Question by d_v_s_420: What kind of spider has is black with a yellow diamond on its back and yellow stripes on it front 2 legs?
This spider was encountered on my bacl porch. I live in a south suburb of Chicago, Il. The spider was jet black with a yellow diamond on its back end. It front two legs each had yellow stripe. It had the build of what I know as a bannana spider, but no where near the size.. It wasnt a large at all. But its markings distinct and clearly visible even at a distance.

sounds like it might be a jumping spider from the family Salticidae. Google Salticid and check out some photos. They are very distinct.
This appears to be Phidippus audax, the bold jumping spider. check out http://www.cirrusimage.com/spider_bold_jumping.htm. This is one of the largest jumping spiders in North America, and can give a painful nip if mishandled.
